THE BIRDS OF GALAPAGOS
Inspiration:
There is a bird species in the Galapagos Islands known for their spectacular displays of courtship. Part of the male’s seduction is to flex the colored feathers on his chest, hoping for someone to love him. This Age of web cams, blogs, online dating sites and glorified Facebook status updates is born out of a need to look attractive to others and, ultimately, to ourselves. If Charles Darwin were alive today, he would conclude: “We haven’t left that island after all.”
